The Helios Lizard Car






The Universitat Dulsburg-Essen, in Germany, wants to build a solar-powered car that can charge itself entirely from the sun. The problem is the limited space for photovoltaic panels on a car’s roof. The Helios overcomes that limitation by acting like a frill-neck lizard. When stationary, the off-road vehicle can unfurl a large set of photovoltaic cells to produce enough energy to run the car, with excess energy for home power. The Helios won Best Use of Technology category at the Interior Motives Design Awards 2008.

Peripheral Vision Eyeglass








A concept of increasing vision with peripheral glasses has came up with the designer Billy May. The cyclists are not as much visible as motorist though they have to become super vigilant while dealing with city traffic. The designer Billy may have introduced a new concept of glasses with peripheral vision. These glasses can extend the peripheral vision of a cyclist up to twenty five percent in every direction. These glasses designed by Bill may have made up with Fresnel lenses. These glasses are helpful for wide ranges as well as to detect the happenings upto 180 degrees are advantageous for riders.

Peripheral vision is the range of vision away from the central focus. The central vision ranges about ninety degrees where it includes two degrees away and two degree towards to the nose. As the central focus ends the peripheral vision starts. The peripheral vision ranges sixty degree towards the nose and seventy five degree downward to the nose. Only a vision device can help one to see the objects with peripheral glasses.
